Welcome to the Smart Way

 

The Smart Way is one of West Lothian's premier Driving Schools. We offer a variety of services, ranging from in car practical driving lessons for complete beginners, through to theory test training, a variety of fleet driver training services and even up to advanced driving lessons for those wishing to take advanced driving tests (RoSPA or IAM) or the ADI part 2 test.

We are now please to announce a significant expansion in our instructor line up.  Miranda Belcher has joined our instructor group in West Lothian allowing us to offer female driving  instructors and the option of lessons on a saturday in that area and Colin Slight has also joined us to allow us to offer you lessons in the Fife area, including Rosyth, Dunfermline, Inverkeething and the surrounding areas.

Do you want to learn to drive?

Throw your L plates in the bin when you pass your driving test with us If so, we could be the people to teach you.  We are professional driving instructors, offering Driving lessons in Livingston, Bathgate, Linlithgow, indeed, throughout the West Lothian and West of Edinburgh areas. Thanks to our new instructor, Colin Slight, we are also now able to offer you lessons in Rosyth, Dunfermline, Inverkeething, and the whole surrounding areas.  We consider ourselves to be friendly, approachable and very patient. We pride ourselves on making your driving lessons enjoyable as well as beneficial. Nervous pupils are most welcome and are something of a specialty for us. Theory Test Preparation

In addition to in-car practical driving lessons, here at The Smart Way, we can offer you the very best way to prepare for your driving theory test. Instead of struggling with thousands of questions from books, why not attend one of our structured theory test evening class courses. These classes are usually held in Adult education centres in Livingston, Bathgate, or Linlithgow. Click on the "Theory Test Evening Classes" link left for more information. Do you want to improve your driving?  

We offer a variety of ways for qualified drivers to improve their driving, such as:-

  • The Pass Plus course for those who have recently passed their test and want to learn more as well as save a lot of money on their first insurance premium. 

  • Comprehensive training in towing techniques to add category B+E to your license in order to allow you to tow a caravan, trailer or horsebox.  

  • Or perhaps you have passed your test some time ago but have not driven for a while. We can tailor refresher lessons to your exact requirements, allowing you to rebuild your confidence as you gain experience.  

  • In addition we have instructors who are qualified to teach advanced lessons for the IAM and RoSPA qualification, or the DSA Instructors part 2 test. 

 

Are you an employer wanting to improve the driving standards of your company drivers?

We can help.  In addition to teaching Learner drivers, we have instructors who are able to offer you a variety of Fleet Driver Training Services.  These services can develop better drivers for your company, resulting in lower insurance premiums and  lower absence through reduced accident rates.
