Lessons for Learners
Do we teach in your area? Our primary teaching areas for learner drivers are currently the whole of West Lothian (predominantly Livingston, Bathgate, Linlithgow, East Calder and West Calder) and the west side of Edinburgh. However at times we do teach outside of these areas. Please contact us on 0800 311 8088 to tell us where you are and we will see what we can do to accommodate your requirements. Why are two hour lessons recommended? Many people will see that we recommend two hour driving lessons and assume that we are simply trying to double the amount of money we can charge per lesson. This is not so, the fact is that two hour lessons are more efficient and therefore provide better value. Consider that a one hour lesson will be broken up in the following way. (Times given in minutes are a guide only)
Leaving 30 minutes “real” training time for learning and practice, as shown in the diagram below.
Now contrast this to the same time on these “support activities”, in a two-hour lesson, leaving 90 minutes “real” training time, 3 times the amount of real learning time, at only twice the cost.
Now,
whilst like most major driving schools, I recommend two hour lessons for
the best learning value for money, I do understand that not everyone can
afford two hours, even if it is the time that is a problem for them rather
than the money. I am very
happy to talk to you and discuss your individual requirements and
availability, and see what I can do to suit you.
Birthday and Christmas Gift PackagesGiving driving lessons as a birthday or Christmas present may be one of the most useful presents you can ever give and are sure to be received gratefully. I will tailor packages to suit any budget, but the following samples give an idea of what I can offer.
For Birthday Gifts, the driving lessons are presented in the form of an attractive certificate. At Christmas time the certificate is enclosed in a seasonally styled card. Please note that it is not possible to give lessons on Christmas day or boxing day but I will always attempt to give the lesson on the first reasonable date following.
Note that there are no surcharges for weekend or evening lessons. Availability of these times varies as they are popular so please call to discuss with me if you have a wish or need to learn at these times. We operate a refer a friend scheme, if you recommend us to a friend who goes on to book 10 hours of lessons you get a one hour lesson free of charge Use of the school car for a driving test is charged at the price of one hour. It is also generally advised that you book a one hour " warm up" practice immediately before the test. Most people do, but this is down to the individual.
