Theory Training

Is the Theory Test worrying you?

The theory test is an unavoidable part of the process in getting a driving licence, but a part that many instructors (including some of the major schools) do not actively teach. In this case, the learner is often left to get on with teaching themselves, using some books, CD-Roms for the computer or some internet sites to teach themselves. In most cases the books or CD-Roms are excellent materials in their own right, but there is more to learning the subject than simply answering questions until the cows come home. Here at The Smart Way we organise structured evening classes where all parts of the subject are taught fully allowing the learner to get a proper understanding of what is required. These courses consist of:

  • Short lectures, including Powerpoint presentations

  • Real photographs showing actual road situations (where appropriate)

  • Video assisted training for the Hazard Perception element

  • Hands on practice for the Hazard Perception element

  • Group question sessions

  • A short visual presentation showing what will happen on the day of the theory test

  • Study material, handouts, questionaires and a FREE copy of the highway code.

The course has been designed by ourselves to fit across a number of weeks.  At the time of publication, the first time pass rate on the theory test for those attending this course is very high.

We run these courses in local community schools or other training centres, and whenever demand is sufficient. If you think that this course might be of interest to you call NOW. Be aware that these classes are "stand alone", that is to say, you do not have to be taking driving lessons with The Smart Way to attend these evening classes, nor will you be placed under any pressure to take lessons with us at the end of the course. Naturally, on completion, if you do want to take lessons with us we will do everything in our power to accommodate you.

Note that as of September 3rd 2007 the theory test will be changing (which is another way of saying getting HARDER!)  The current 35 questions will increase to 50 and the pass mark will be going up from 30 to 43.  In addition the price of the test will be increasing to £28.50.   Do you REALLY want to attempt this test with no proper training?
