Is the Theory Test worrying you?

The driving theory test is an unavoidable part of the process in getting a driving licence, but it is a part that many instructors (including some of the major schools) do not actively teach. In this case, the learner driver is often left to get on with teaching themselves, using some books, CD-Roms for the computer or some internet sites. In most cases the books or CD-Roms are excellent materials in their own right, but there is a lot more to learning any subject than simply answering questions repeatedly without UNDERSTANDING what is being asked and why.

Our solution to your theory test worries

Here at The Smart Way we organise courses of structured evening (night) classes where all parts of the driving theory test are taught fully, allowing the learner to get a proper understanding of what is required. Undergoing these classes may also help the learner develop defensive driving skills that can help them avoid accidents and other unwanted circumstances. Something that can be beneficial for those who want to use their Aviva car insurance or other safeguard policies to its full potential.

These courses consist of:

• Short lectures, including Powerpoint presentations
• Group discussions
• Real photographs showing actual road situations (where appropriate)
• Video assisted training for the Hazard Perception element
• Hands on practice for the Hazard Perception element
• Group question sessions
• A short visual presentation showing what will happen on the day of the theory test
• Study material, handouts, questionaires and a FREE copy of the highway code if you don't already have one.

The course has been designed by ourselves to fit across a number of weeks. At the time of publication, the first time pass rate on the theory test for those attending this course is very high.

We run these evening courses in local community schools in Livingston or other training centres whenever demand is sufficient. If you think that this course might be of interest to you call NOW. Be aware that these classes are "stand alone", that is to say, you do not have to be taking in car practical driving lessons with The Smart Way to attend these theory test evening classes, nor will you be placed under any pressure to take lessons with us at the end of the course. Naturally, on completion, if you do want to take lessons with us we will do everything in our power to accommodate you.

What if there is not much of a demand when I am looking to do a course?

Thats EASY - Start the demand!! We can only know that people want to do this course if they tell us. At any given time we have about 30 active learner drivers in our driving school alone. Of these, typically half will be waiting to sit the theory test. Some will feel confident about learning from books and websites, but many will be just like you, a little nervous and unsure.
